Darby Angel
CEO / Producer

Darby entered the world of the Independent Film in 2007 (as an investor). He is the Founder of  AWE. Prior to founding AWE, he was an entrepreneur in the IT industry for over ten (10) years and during that time invested in and or assisted over one hundred (100) IT companies, across fourteen countries, increase their market  share and sales revenues that delivered volumetric sales increases that were counted in the hundreds of millions. He is an MBA Graduate and has undertaken extensive post-graduate marketing and sales training courses and programs.  His depth of trans-national experience in capital raising, business, marketing and selling has directly supported the success of AWE to date .

 

 

Pooya Ahmadi
Investment Director / Executive Producer

With a strong background in media and business, Pooya has over 15 years of experience in B2B sales,  management, strategic alliance and client liaison, predominantly at board level and mainly in highly competitive media environments. Pooya played an integral role in the launch of ‘The Business Channel’, an entertainment channel for entrepreneurs on the Sky platform (no. 547), raising monies prior to the launch. She was responsible for all productions, sales and commercial relationships, growing the niche viewership from 100,000 in January 2007 to over 1 million in March 2008.

 

 

John Michaels
Head of Production / Executive Producer

JOHN has been a producer, a financier, and an executive in the film industry for over two decades. He has successfully delivered, and continues to deliver, high quality independent productions and studio feature films. John served as an advisory board member, evaluating, approving and supervising 58 projects for the German Media Fund, VIP Medienfonds GmbH. During his tenure with VIP, VIP amassed investment funds over $1.0 billion making it a leading financier of motion pictures throughout the world. VIP was a partner in the production of such films as “MONSTER” (Academy Award winner Charlize Theron), “ALPHA DOG”, (Emile Hirsch, Bruce Willis, Justin Timberlake), and “THE PUNISHER” (John Travolta), to name a few.

 

 

Christopher Tisa

Chris entered into the entertainment industry at the age of nineteen after studying at Northwest Florida State College.  Eager to break into the feature film world, he closed his first investment deal at the mere age of twenty-two by bringing an outside investor into a major film finance and production company in Hollywood. He has since been a part of several productions of various size and budget ranging from commercials, (Express Jeans, the E! Network, MTV), to television shows (CSI: Miami, ABC’s Don’t Trust the B---- in Apt 23) and feature films, which include the upcoming movie Gangster Squad starring Sean Penn and Ryan Gosling.
